Below is a sample dispute letter that a consumer can send to a Trans Union, Experian, Equifax, or any other kind of credit reporting agency. This letter is to be used to dispute inaccurate information that is currently being reflected on the consumer’s credit report. Dispute letters should have as much relevant information and documentation as possible to prove why the reporting is inaccurate. As always, send this letter via certified mail so that you have proof of mailing.
